The Craft Barn - Wishing Well and Wishing Well Challenge 2

Hi everyone! It's Wishing Well Week at the Craft Barn Blog and a wish granted for Trish:

"I wish the DT could show me how to use up all the scraps of paper and ribbon I always end up with at the end of a project. I have so many now, and it seems a waste not to use them for something!
Thanks, Trish x"

Trish's wish has been granted by Michelle with some fantastic ideas for using and organising paper scraps. The rest of my DT friends have been adding their wonderful ideas for scraps too and today I have my card and step by step to show using ribbon scraps on the Craft Barn blog. I hope you'll pop over and of course you can add your wish to the wishing well post while you're there. Today is also the start of the second wishing well challenge and all the information about it is on the blog.

Have a lovely Friday.

Katzelkraft - Simon Says Stamp and Show - Acrylic Mini Book

Hi everyone! I have an acrylic mini book to show today for the Katzelkraft blog using the beautiful stamps from theTransportation half plateArbres 02 1/3 plate and KTZ48 Nature.

The mini book is on the theme of a childhood memory as I'm entering it into the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge of  'a childhood memory' this week.  My memory is of my Grandfather, he had lots of hobbies and I remember being shown how to use a plane in the woodwork shed and lots of other memories of course but don't have photographs of those. So his picture is on the front with his violin (I do remember trying to play that without success :D) with photographs inside of the band he played in during the 1930s. I've also included a photo of me as a toddler sitting in the yard of my grandparents house [love the safety pin holding my play clothes together :)].

The pages are die cut from thick acetate and then stamped with the  flourish, tree leaves and the brick background stamps from the above sets  in permanent white and black ink then I added embossing ink to the edges and embossed with black embossing powder. The vintage car on the last page was also stamped with permanent ink on the acetate and then cut out and glued over the page.

I've also added die cut leaves on the front cover and made a music tissue tape flower with die cut leaves on two inner pages which I reversed on the opposite side using a different tissue tape. There's also a glittered die cut heart, gems, music tape, ribbon and trim to decorate.

Thanks as always for your lovely comments :).

Pay it forward

Hi everyone, I hope your weekend was good. The above cute image was acquired from Susie Q as I've entered her 'pay it forward' and now it's my turn to pay it forward too.

I promise to send something handmade to the first five people who comment on this post. But if you enter you must post this too, and offer something handmade to another five people that comment on your blog.

The rules are that it must be something handmade or homemade by you and it has to be sent to five other people during 2011, so we all have plenty of time :D!

If you'd like to join in the fun, then be among the first five to post a comment and something handmade or homemade will be coming your way at some point this year.

I think this a very sweet idea and hope that five of you would like something made by me!

Ribbon Hair Tilda

Hi everyone, hope you're enjoying the weekend. A card today using the gorgeous new Ribbon Hair Tilda from 'You're so special' collection and I think she's my new favourite Tilda, I love the curly hair. She's coloured with distress inks with lots of stickles added and then cut out with Nestabilities ovals. I've also used a couple of die cut and punched hearts embossed with a hearts embossing folder, a Magnolia Doo Hickey lace die and a pearly heart embellishment. The paper is by Prima and I've added a Prima flower sprayed with mica mist, pearls and ribbons to decorate.

I'm entering my card into this week's Cute Card Thursday challenge where there's a 1,2,3 recipe to follow, I'm gone for one paper, two bows and three hearts for my combo.

Katzelkraft - Studio L3 - Simon Says Stamp and Show - Gingersnap Creations

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well today. It's my turn on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a card using the beautiful Art Deco lady from the Art Deco stamp plate and a corner flourish from the Art Nouveau Set.

I've used Tim Holtz's colourful layered fragments technique for the centre piece as that's the challenge on lovely Linda's Compendium of Curiosities challenge this week and I've also used some glittered polka dot vellum so that I can enter the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge of polka dots. My blog friend Kim made a superb bag for her i-pod from grunge paper for her DT project on there this week, very inspirational as always, I loved it. I'm also entering the Gingersnap Creations 'once in a blue moon' challenge where you can choose a theme from several by the DT members which I think is a lovely idea and I've chosen  Jules theme which is to stamp on acrylic with permanent ink.

Enjoy your day and thank you as always for your lovely comments, always very much appreciated.

The Craft Barn - Wishing Well

Hi everyone! It's wishing well day on the Craft Barn Blog today and even better it's wishing well WEEK, things are changing as the Wishing Well also becomes a new challenge and also there are going to be followers prizes, the more followers the bigger the prizes but I'll leave it to Isabelle who's explained it all beautifully on the blog.

This week's wish is all about pencils and how to colour with them and for today I've done a pencil colouring step by step PDF using the House Mouse image that's on my gift card above.  Coming up for the rest of the week are beautiful projects by my DT friends Michelle and Isa that shouldn't be missed, absolutely gorgeous creations. All the information together with the step by step pencil colouring pdf and materials list are over on the Craft Barn Blog, hope you can pop by for a visit.

Katzelkraft DT - Studio L3 - Simon Says Stamp and Show

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend and a good start to the week. It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a card in a collage style of stamping with the beautiful KTZ85 Chandalier plate.

I started off with white card and used TH's distress misting masks technique over a leaf vine mask which means I can enter my card into lovely Linda's challenge at Studio L3 and also as luck would have it this week the challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show is masking so I'm entering that too :D Both of these challenges are always a pleasure to join in with, gorgeous inspiration from Linda at Studio L3 and all the entrants there and from all the DT members at SSSS and I've found a lot of interesting blogs and inspirational art by entering them, I'm really enjoying them both.

I've stamped the scrollwork from the stamp set at the top and then the chandalier to dangle from it also stamping the text stamp over the entire piece. To get some light and dark text I stamped off the ink first on some scrap paper except for the last time in the bottom left corner.

Bottom and right edges were painted with black soot crackle paint, edges were sponged with black soot distress ink and to decorate I added lots of silver pearl pen dots, two decorative metal corners and these and the crackle paint were highlighted with white rub-n-buff.

Thanks as always for your lovely comments which I appreciate very much.

Katzelkraft DT - gift box

Hi everyone and best wishes to you all for a very happy new year, I hope your celebrations were good :D!

It's my day on the Katzelkraft blog today and I've made a little gift box  from kraft card and stamps from the beautiful  Nature plate. After scoring the box and before gluing it together I stamped around each side of the box base and lid and a motif in the centre of the lid and they were all embossed with white embossing powder . I added a bit of colour with a couple of copic markers and then after gluing and allowing to dry I sponged all the edges of the box base and lid with walnut stain distress ink and lightly with white Brilliance ink over the top of the brown. I finished off with a pretty ribbon.
Enjoy your day.
